What is an AOCN?

An AOCN is an authorized entity responsible for entering data into iconectiv’s rating and routing databases. This entity may update their own records and/or the records of other companies.

What type of information is stored in iconectiv's databases?

Information on a company's switches, including switching functionalities, tandem homing arrangements and host/remote relationships are maintained in iconectiv's databases. In addition, the databases contain detailed information on rate centers, billing offices and exchanges (NXXs).

Is an AOCN required?

Yes. Each company must select an AOCN for updating iconectiv's databases on their behalf.

Why is it important?

Correct data promotes proper call routing, recording and billing to occur across all the networks and systems that comprise the Public Switched Telephone Network. If a company's data is not kept current, network and/or billing problems may occur. Whenever a company adds a facility, it is assigned a new NXX . If it makes changes to its equipment or network capabilities, this must be reflected in the databases.

Why should I use NECA?

We have played an important role in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years. Our team has many areas of expertise including access, interconnection, database management and several federal/state programs. As an AOCN, we bring more to the table than knowledge of iconectiv's rating and routing databases. Our AOCN team provides customized service in a changing industry to a wide variety of service providers.

How do I select NECA?

Please return our AOCN service agreement to AOCN or Panchali Das.

As my AOCN, what else will NECA do for my company?

We will assist with the completion and submission of the Central Office Code Assignment request forms, commonly referred to as the Part 2 forms. Our team of trained professionals will also help you identify and resolve any network problems you may experience as they relate to your company's rating and routing data. In addition, as your company's designated AOCN, we will work to ensure discrepancies do not exist between your Tariff No. 4 and iconectiv data.
